Arantxa Sánchez Vicario was born in Barcelona, Spain, on December 18, 1971. She was born in a family with lots of values and lots of love. She was the youngest of four siblings. Her family loved tennis, so at the age of 4 she started playing, following in the footsteps of two of her older brothers, Javier and Emilio. At the age of 14 she became a professional. She has a lot of courage and determination. That's why she finished school and became one of the best of her generation. She also finished her career with a lot of integrity.

This athlete is special for me because she won 1st place in the world in tennis. She won a match against the number one player in the world in 1994. She has been a great example for a lot of people around the world because of her courage and determination. She is a hero because she has shown the world that perseverance, hard work and desire are the basic qualities for succeeding. She has also shown that if you want something, no matter how hard it is, you can achieve it. One remarkable thing about Arantxa is that she never gives up, and when something is tougher than other things, she gives more of herself to accomplish her goal.

This research makes me realize that heroes aren't only famous, they are also people who have passed through many difficulties and have overcome many fears and obstacles. They teach us to never give up. I would like to have a lot of courage like my hero someday. Arantxa Sánchez Vicario goes beyond being a celebrity, because she sacrificed many things and still, like all outstanding people, she keeps teaching us about life.

Heroes have left a very special mark on history because more than one person admires them for their courage, skills, feelings, etc. I´m sure that they have inspired a lot of people, and even though society in general might forget them, these heroes will always be in the hearts and souls of all the people they have helped.
