Andre Kirk Agassi

The person who is my hero is Andre Agassi. I really like him because he is an inspiration in my life. He won the singles and doubles championship in the tennis World Cup. He was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also lives there right now. He was born on April 29, 1970. He’s about 34 years old now and that may seem old, but the way he plays tennis against his opponents is like he’s very young. His height is about 5’11”. It’s not really a good height when you serve out there in tennis, but with his skills he can hit a perfect Ace on the court.

Andre Agassi inspired me to play tennis when I was a little boy. I was watching all of his matches year after year, and every year he plays, he gets better. I wanted to be more like him. I started playing tennis when I was eight years old. I wasn’t really good, but as the years have gone by, I got much better. When I went to high school, I joined the tennis team. The couch asked everyone an important question before he chose anyone. He asked, “Why do you like tennis, and who inspired you to play it?”

Two years ago I was on the tennis team, and I played against the hardest players ever. Because of Andre Agassi, I was determined to play my best and never give up on any match. I won both the singles and doubles championship. I got two medals from the school and became really happy. My best friend and I were going for the doubles championship. I told him how Andre Agassi is my inspiration, and how we both should follow his footsteps. We can make things happen.

Andre Agassi goes by his three “I’s”. Those three are intensity, integrity, and intelligence. His intensity is how he goes extreme in the game he plays. He puts a lot of force, energy, and feeling to it. His integrity is the way he completes himself as being honest and undivided. His intelligence is how he learns and understands how to deal with his situations on the court. He has great skills to maneuver any type of shot given to him.

Andre Agassi has been doing his career for 18 years, and at 33 he became the oldest player to finish in the Top 5. He captured four titles in the first four months of season. He was highlighted by his eighth career Grand Slam title and 16th career Tennis Masters Series Crown. I love playing tennis and because of him, I went to become a champion like him. I watch all his tapes on how he plays tennis, and I learn from them. Every move he makes, I try to do it just like him. If I ever become a pro- tennis champion, it was all because of how Andre Agassi inspired me.
