Christina Aguleria

by Ashley

"No matter what they say, words won't bring us down."

Christina Aguilera is my hero because no matter what she does or how she acts, she does what her heart tells her...not what the public and media tells her. She always stands up for what she believes in, and always fights for her cause. She is very famous, but she doesn't let it go to her head. Even though she has a lot to do, she still seems to make time for her family and friends...the people who matter most.

One of the things that I have learned from Christina Aguilera, along with many others, is that you should be happy with yourself and not let other people's judgment get in the way of who you really are. Up until last year, everyone was very jealous of Christina Aguilera because of her body, her hair, and her talent. But all of a sudden, the media started printing things saying extremely mean and untrue things about Christina. Things like...she is too skinny, she must be anorexic, and that she is selling out because she wears revealing clothes. So Christina took matters into her own hands!

In three months' time, Christina had gained somewhere between twenty-five and thirty pounds, just to see what people who called her "too skinny" would have to say. The media's reaction was immediate. Within a week of Christina going out in public with her newfound body, magazines, radio stations, and TV programs were buzzing about her. Some called her fat, while others just said she was having a medical problem. Christina went onto a TV talk show and made one last announcement to the public, "First I was too skinny, now I'm too fat. Will anybody ever be good enough for you people?"

So from Christina has made her point. You shouldn't let peer pressure or other people's nagging decide who you are or who your going to be. You should decide for yourself, it's your life...live it! Don't try to please everybody else in the world, it isn't going to happen! Don't try to please your family and friends if you aren't being true to yourself! Because the only person that you will ever have to really answer to, apart from God...is you.

Hi Hi!!!!!!!!!!! My name is Ashley. I am in 8th grade at Immanuel Lutheran School in Wentzville, Missouri! I enjoy volleyball, long walks at the mall...and the occasional buying of odd shoes. Does that sound incredibly cheesy to anybody besides me? I thought so.
