My hero is Pamela Anderson and, no, it's not for any of the reasons you are probably thinking. She has done a lot of great things with her life aside from her career working with Playboy.
She was born as Pamela Denise Anderson on July 1, 1967 at 4:08 a.m. in Ladysmith, British Columbia. She was first discovered at a football game on a wide screen as a beautiful girl wearing a beer T shirt. She was recognized and made the "blue zone" girl for the Labatt's beer company. Pamela has been an actress, a model, a television star, and a huge inspiration to me.
I envy her for her beauty and great looks and the fact that she has made a huge career in Playboy even after having two children with Tommy Lee and numerous surgeries and implants, and then undoing those implants.
Pamela is not only really pretty and well off in life, she is also involved in a lot of organizations such as PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and she dedicates her time to taking part in religious practices with children from around the world. She gives a very generous amount of charity money to starving children foundations.
She has gone through a few really hard times in her life and has dealt with them, in my opinion, the best way she could. I wish that I could deal with my problems as well as her and impress the public. For example, when she was filming "Barb Wire" she suffered from a tragic miscarriage. Her now ex-husband, Tommy Lee, was very abusive and was arrested several times.
When receiving her barb wire tattoo, she shared a needle with her husband at the time. Unfortunately she contracted a deadly incurable disease, Hepatitis C. This is part of the reason why she is my hero, because someone very close to me is suffering from the same thing.
After contracting the disease, Pamela still goes on with her life the best she can and acts like it doesn't bother her, and she still entertains the public.
She helped start a foundation (American Liver Foundation) for people who have tragically been through the disease and are still going through it. She has a site on the internet where she actually talks to people and helps with support groups. She is trying to help people through it by going with her experiences from the disease. She has gone through interferon, the treatment for Hepatitis C, and other treatments for the sickness. She is currently doing well, but is currently still receiving outpatient treatment.
Even though she is infected with hepatitis C, Pamela keeps going and achieves the goals and dreams I wish I could. She has been voted most powerful female in Hollywood in 2005, she was picked number eight in "100 Sexiest Women in the World in 2005" and she is an active member in PETA.
I guess Pamela Anderson is my hero because of everything she has gone through and is still going through. It helps me to see how hepatitis works and effects people, and what is going to happen to the person in my life as time goes by because of the same disease. She helps me realize that it isn't going to be as bad as it seems and everything is going to be okay.
