My hero is a young college student who has a heart of gold. She is charismatic and outgoing, funny and spontaneous. My hero is my best friend and my sister.
Andrea has done many things in her life to be a hero to me and many others. She has been a role-model to girls young and old. Ever since I can remember, Andrea has looked out for the safety of others every where she goes. During the summer days, Andrea served as a lifeguard for the public pool, and has continued to teach others her knowledge of lifeguarding in order to protect and save others' lives. If she is walking in the mall or a store, and sees an elderly person in need of assistance, she does not hold back. She is always willing to lend a hand, and give comfort to everyone.
My sister is still alive, and continues to touch people's hearts daily. She is kind spirited, and a joy to be around all the time. When Andrea is not living at home, she is living away at school. Currently, she is following God's calling, and pursuing nursing.
Over the years, my sister has been in the bed next to mine. Every night she would wait up for me so that we could talk about the day. She always wanted to know what was going on in my life, and take in any lesson she could learn from her older sister. However, while she was growing and learning from me, she was also teaching me. Because Andrea is more spontaneous and courageous than I am, I learned to take chances I wouldn't normally take. Over the years, the two of us have committed our lives to Christ, and we challenge each other to learn more, and to be better people. When I went away to school the first year, I realized how much I cherished those moments at night with my sister. Because I was away, and she was at home, she helped me through some of the hardest nights of my life. I would be lonely, and she would make me feel at home; she would feed me advice about God's plan for me, and remind me that I am loved no matter how far away I am.
Outside of her relationship with me, Andrea is a friend to everyone, young and old. When she is with young children, she is very creative, and is willing to play at their level. When she is with older people, she serves them, and looks after them at all times. She is a role model in all of her actions and opinions. My sister has taught me to look out for others, and to live life to its fullest, without making wrong decisions. She has been an open ear and a loving heart in my life.
