Johnny Appleseed

My hero I chose is John Chapman / Johnny Appleseed. He was born on September 26, 1774 near Leomindter, Massachusetts. Johnny died on March 18, 1845. I chose Johnny Appleseed because he gave us apples! Also because he is an Ohio hero and I live in Ohio.

When Johnny was little he loved nature. He also liked growing apple trees. Johnny Appleseed was welcomed in Ohio. He was a happy boy. He also loved the outdoors. Johnny grew up on a farm with his father. Johnny had a good childhood.

Johnny Appleseed had a lot of faith. He was very determined. He was kind and very helpful. Johnny was brave. He was gentle and caring. He was also thoughtful. He loved nature and God. Johnny had a lot of amazing character traits.

If it wasn’t for Johnny, we wouldn’t have apple trees. He also helped a lot of people by giving them apples to eat. Johnny even helped the Indians by giving them apples too. Johnny Appleseed did a lot of fantastic things to help.

Johnny faced a lot of hard times. He had to travel in terrible weather. He also had to sleep in the woods. He had to face different illnesses. As he traveled, he didn’t have a lot to eat or drink. As Johnny traveled he also faced a lot of obstacles he had to overcome.
