The reason why we chose Augustus/Octavian for our hero, and is a hero, is because he made Rome strong again after they were all soft and broken down. He first started when he was 17 and he ruled for 45 years. His uncle was Julius Caesar and Julius was also a great ruler in Rome but nobody liked him, so Augustus had to prove to them he was not like his uncle. Augustus won every war he was in for them so they got a bunch of land. Augustus was the first Emperor after Julius was. Augustus died from either natural causes or his wife Livia poisoned him.

Augustus/ Octavian is a hero because he won every single fight he had to battle and conquered tons of land for the Roman Empire and also he made bodyguards for the emperors. He did this so they couldn't get assassinated like his great uncle, Caesar. He also made a strong alliance with the surrounding empires so they wouldn't invade them. Also the plebeians and patricians loved him because he made the laws for both of them, not just one sided like his great uncle Caesar. He also made them more wealthy by trading more. The empire was at its height when Octavian was in power and when he died stopped ruling he said, "I became ruler with this city of bricks and I am leaving it in marble.

Octavian's biggest reason that he is a hero is that he rebuilt Rome. "I came here and it was a city of bricks. I left it was a city of marble." That was him quoting about his success on rebuilding Rome. Our definition of a hero is an ordinary person doing extraordinary things. Rebuilding that big of an empire while building new places that is pretty extraordinary I have to say so.

Our definition of a hero is an ordinary person doing extraordinary things. Octavian/Augustus was a hero and this is why. He rebuilt the entire city of Rome after the civil war. While he was conquering other places, he built new places and rebuilt Rome. He rebuilt Rome but while doing that he made it look better than ever, while managing an entire empire from not falling into complete chaos for 45 years. Winning every war, that is pretty extraordinary if I have to say myself.
