Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts. One famous quote that he said was "A penny saved is a penny earned". He is mainly known for his experiment with electricity, but did invent and experiment with many other things too. Franklin is a hero because he dedicated his life to benefit others.

The events that influenced the character of Benjamin Franklin was that when he was a kid he was always very good at science and wanted to use his skills to better the world. After experimenting for years, he came up with several different inventions. He invented the lightning rod, bifocals, Franklin stove, glass armonica, odometer, & the long arm.

Benjamin Franklin is a hero to many because he is selfless and dedicated. The text states, "He [Benjamin Franklin] went to France for many years to try to convince the French government to help us during the American Revolution" (Scott 1). This piece of evidence shows that Franklin was standing up for what he believed in to help others. In addition, the author wrote, "Franklin tried to experiment with lightning, but it didn't always turned out as planned. He would try again.." (Scott 1). This quote shows that Benjamin is dedicated because he wouldn't give up. In conclusion, Benjamin Franklin will always be remembered as a hero who was dedicated, and selfless.   Some long term effects that has made Benjamin Franklin a part of the lives of many is that he was the first person to experiment with electricity. So thanks to him, we now use electricity in our everyday lives. Also, some of his other inventions are now reinvented for our lives, such as a stove that is better for the environment. To conclude, Benjamin Franklin is a hero because he dedicated his life to helping others. He did many experiments and inventions, but didn't always succeed. He is a very important hero who was beneficial to many people.
