I have been told repetitively by several different coaches that opportunities don't just happen, you have to make them. Bryce Harper definitely did this. He was drafted right out of high school into the Major Leagues for baseball. He has thus far been successful in his career. Bryce Harper is a hero in my opinion because he is very close to his family, he shows great leadership, and was one of the youngest players in the Major Leagues.
Bryce Harper was born on October 16,1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada. His full name is Bryce Aron Max Harper. His two nicknames are Bam Bam or Mondo ("Bryce Harper"). He went to high school at Las Vegas HS. He caught for his high school team and he was so good that he could throw people out from his knees. He had the highest batting average for his team all four years in high school. The best memory he said he had was when he was in high school he hit a foul ball and it broke the car window of a Ferrari in the farthest parking lot away ("Bryce Harper"). He has played baseball at every level that is possible since t-ball to college to the Major Leagues.
Bryce Harper currently goes to college at the University of Southern Nevada. He has the record there for 31 homeruns in 66 games beating out 12 and he also had 98 RBI's. He was only able to play fall ball because he is in the major leagues. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 230 pounds. Harper was the 1st round draft pick of the 2010 amateur draft. Which was obviously right out of his high school career. He likes to talk a lot and meet new people. He also wears a "What Would I Do" bracelet. He has a lot of fun in everything he does including his free time.
In the free time that Bryce Harper has he enjoys to do many things. His favorite besides baseball is to play basketball. He is not very good but he thinks it is a good time. He also enjoys swimming, skiing, and going tubing. Basically Harper enjoys being outside. He takes every chance he can to get outside. He always enjoys his free time but he doesn't have a whole lot since he plays for the Nationals.
Bryce Harper is an interesting person because he bats left but he throws right handed. He plays center field for the Washington Nationals. He was signed to the Nationals on August !6, 2010 for five years. He will make approximately $9.9 million ("Bryce Harper"). He also played in the Major League in 2012. Harper can basically play anywhere because he can pitch a 96 mph fastball. All of his teammates think he is a really great guy and they really enjoy having him on their team because he is very good at fitting in with the group even though he is so young. Even though he is young he still is a role model to many.
There are many reasons that I look up to Bryce Harper. The main reason is because he was drafted right out of high school into the Major Leagues. He put in a lot of hard work and dedication. Every chance he had he would be outside playing catch. He worked his hardest and he knew his goals and every goal that he had he met because he worked so hard for everything that he has now and he is only 20 years old. Another reason that I think he is a hero is because he can basically play any position. He is so athletic that he can do anything that he puts his mind to. The final reason why I consider him a hero is because he makes good decisions even though he is around a lot of older people all the time. He doesn't feel that he needs to impress them which is a really good quality to have and it will take him a long way in life.
It is now clear that Bryce Harper is a hero because he is very close to his family, he shows great leadership skills, and he was one of the youngest people to play in the Major Leagues. People have to take advantage of the opportunities that get placed in front of them, and sometimes they have to create those opportunities. Either way keep Bryce Harper in mind because when things get tough just remember to push through your trials and that in the end it will all work out.
