Bob Hope

A hero is someone who is brave and does good for others. Heroes are confident and inspire people. They do great things for others. Heroes put other people before them. A hero could even be a comedian or entertainer. Heroes also have a huge amount of courage. An example of a hero to me is Bob Hope. Bob Hope, is a hero.

One characteristic of Bob Hope is courage. I think Bob Hope has courage because in his early life, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio (America) all the way from England! Also, he did this with his parents and six brothers. Bob's family had financial problems. So, Bob had to work for many jobs. I think moving from one country to another along with financial problems and having many jobs, takes a lot of courage.

Another characteristic Bob Hope has is confidence. I think Bob Hope had courage when he "went solo" in the 1930s. He was in the Broadway musical Roberta. Also, he made a radio track, got his own show, and made feature films. I think in order to do all of this, Bob needed a lot of confidence.

The last characteristic Bob Hope has is bravery, while being a comedian. I think Bob Hope is a comedian with bravery because during World War 2, Bob regularly took time off out of his film and television career to entertain American soldiers. Along with Bob Hope's family, they spent many Christmases with the troops during the Vietnam War. Bob was even made an honorary veteran in the U.S. military for his goodwill in 1997. I think that helping out in the Vietnam War and entertaining the American soldiers, takes a lot of bravery. Also, Bob donated his joke files to the Library of Congress; more than "85,000 pages of laughs." I think entertaining the troops with jokes and having a life of comedy really shows that he is a comedian. Bob had become one of the most honored performers in entertainment history. These are all the reasons why I think Bob Hope is a hero. He has courage, confidence, and bravery (along with being an entertainer and comedian). Thank you very much for reading about my hero.
