Bruce Lee Born: Bruce Jun Fan Lee on November 27, 1940 was an American-born Chinese martial artist, instructor, and actor. He founded Jeet Kune Do Martial Arts system and acted in many Martial Arts movies.
He is widely regarded as one of the most influential and famous martial artists of all time as well as one of the greatest icons of Martial Arts cinema and in pop culture.
Bruce Lee has created many influential Martial Arts movies along with Martial Art schools. In the Kung fu community he is well known for breaching the wall between Asian teachers and white students, an accomplishment that is recognized all over North America. He has authored and co-authored many books on martial arts as well as books on his personal philosophies and healthy lifestyles.
Currently Bruce Lee is buried in a Lakeview Cemetery near Capitol Hill in Seattle, Washington. He has been dead for 33 years. (July 20 of 1973) He died of a cerebral edema (swelling of the brain) in his sleep.
Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco and moved to Hong Kong at a young age. For university he moved back to America and received a degree in Philosophy from the University of Washington. He later lived in California and Hong Kong acting in movies.
