"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"( Philippians 4:13). This is the verse that Bety Lenox lived by an referred to on a day-to-day basis. She was eighth out if nine children to be born and she was born December 4th 1974. Betty Lennox is an inspiration because she puts other before herself, she played basketball throughout her life, and she remains strong in her faith although she is famous.
Bety Lennox began playing basketball at a young age with her three older and her younger brothers. They never cut her slack when playing ball because she was a girl. She was not intimidated by others that she played. Betty Lennox moved to Independence, Missouri where she had a rough time playing ball there because she was not used to the crossing-over drill they had done. In college Betty Lennox originally enrolled into Butler Community College, and the she transferred over to Trinity Valley CC after her freshman year in Butler Community. Betty Lennox had won the NJCAA Women's Basketball Championship. Betty was most proud that she and her team won this accomplishment, but she had more to accomplish.
Betty did more than just play basketball - she created the "Lennox Foundation 22". This foundation was created by Betty, of course, to help abused and neglected children. The Foundation motto or mission statement was to give the children a chance to succeed at something with the support, education, and love. While in this foundation, the children have learned self-motivation through playing basketball. The money the foundation gets through donations goes to assisting different shelters and homes to enrich their programs and educational needs for their communities.
Betty lives by the bible and keeps her faith strong. Betty Lennox comes from a family who is deeply rooted in to the word of God. Her favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:13 which says, " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". This is a very good bible verse to refer back to when you are having a hard time in whatever the case may be. This bible verse is sewn into her basketball shoes so when she goes into games she knows she can do anything with God by her side and his strength. This bible verse has helped her become who she is today with the help of her brothers who taught her not to be afraid of anyone or anything but the man upstairs and she still lives by that today.
Betty is a loyal and hard working woman and she doesn't let people bring her down. Betty is a very compassionate person. Betty Lennox has earned a lot of things throughout her life that helps make her a better person and live a better life. Betty Lennox has impacted a lot of these children she helps but adults as well to lend a helping hand to those in a not so good condition, environment, situation, health, and and just there for people who are in need. This is a great way to give back to others. Betty inspires me to want to give back to others who need help and need someone to be there for them.
