A hero is someone that may be in your everyday life. A hero might be a family member, a friend, a doctor or even a teacher! My hero is not famous, but she is to me. My hero is my teacher, Ms. McPherson, because she spends her time helping students learn and teaches them not to give up.

When Ms. McPherson was in the 5th grade, she went to a school for girls in Dallas. She admired her teachers all throughout her life. When she was done with school, she had a job in advertising but didn’t feel like she was making a difference. She decided to go to Chicago to be a teacher. She also realized how cold it was there. She was disappointed in how far away her family was in Texas. She then moved to Texas to be a teacher for 4th grade. She enjoyed being near her family and the hot weather.

Ms. McPherson is caring because she cares for her two-year-old calico cat named Spice who was abandoned. She also teaches kids at Trinity Episcopal School. One of my memories that sticks out in my mind the most is when my friend was hurt and Ms. McPherson ran to get the ice pack and cared for her.

Ms. McPherson is a role model because she believes anyone can succeed at something but not everything. She has set a goal to run ten marathons and has completed eight. To me, each marathon is a very big feat. She is a great role model to people that want to run or want to accomplish a goal.

When we were standing in line for chapel I noticed that she is very respectful and has a smile on her face.

Ms. McPherson to me is a funny, kind, caring teacher. You might have a whole different hero definition, but she is a hero to me because she is caring, helpful, and doesn’t give up on someone that says they can’t do something. Ms. McPherson believes that anyone can do anything. You just have to take the chance.
