I used to think companies just made money for themselves and the employees, but Blake Mycoskie’s company, a.k.a (also known as) TOMS Shoes, gives a pair of shoes away to a child in need for every pair they sell. He gives shoes to poor children around the globe. He got the idea when he was in the Amazing Race, in Argentina, and he saw that the children didn’t have shoes to wear and for that reason they couldn’t attend school.

Blake Mycoskie is my hero because he has prevented many illnesses which are caused by walking barefoot in dirty places. Blake is always thinking about other people before himself. He inspires me to be a better person and to never be selfish or self-centered.

Blake was born in Arlington, Texas on August 26, 1976, which makes him 33 years old (he’s going to turn 34 on August 26. 2010).

He has inspired many other people to do what’s right including me. I hope he keeps on inspiring others and being a great role model. Keep moving forward and don't do things you will regret.
