Neto |
Bob Netolicky is my hero. I consider a hero to be someone you look up to and you can admire. Neto is my hero because he has accomplished so many things in his life. He was a basketball legend in 1974. I think he is a good role model for kids, because he always followed him dreams, and that’s a good person to look up to.
Neto was born in Florida, on August 2, 1942. He went to Franklin Elementary when he was a kid. He was so good at basketball that they use to call him "The Great Neto," the other kids used to get mad because he would always beat them. In order for him to play basketball, he had to get good grades in school, so his mother and father thought it was a good motivation for him to get his schoolwork done. Unfortunately, there were a couple of kids who thought Neto was too good of a player, so they use to kick him off the court. But over all, he loved elementary school.
After he graduated from Drake University, he immediately got into the NBA. He was drafted to the Indiana Pacers, and he played for them for 10 seasons. They traded him to the Dallas Chaparrals, but he played for them only three seasons. He was traded again to the San Antonio Spurs, and he played for them for three years. He retired in 1991, and he has done a lot of things since retiring, such as build a Boys and Girls Club.
Neto died in 1998; he will be missed. He was GREAT basketball legend.
