Barack Obama President Elect

Our president Barack Obama was given the actual name, Barack Hussein Obama at birth. Barack Hussein Obama came to the earth in the month of August, the day of the 4th, the year of 1961. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. His mother’s name was Ann Dunham. She was a white American woman. His father’s name was Barack Hussein Obama Sr., and he was born of Luo ethnicity in Nyanza Province, Kenya. His parents met at the university in Hawaii. Barack Sr. finished his graduate degree at Harvard.

Barack Obama’s parents separated when he was two years old and then divorced when he was four. His father eventually returned to Kenya where he became a senior economist in the Kenyan Ministry of Finance. His mother later married another foreign student, Lolo Soetoro, who was from Indonesia and was obtaining his master's degree at the University of Hawaii. In 1967, Barack moved with his new stepfather and mother to Jakarta, where he lived from age six to ten. Barack Obama and his parents lived in a poor neighborhood. His childhood life was difficult because he had parents of two different races. When he was ten he went back to Hawaii to live with his grandparents because of his mother's work as an anthropologist in Indonesia. Barack Obama finished college and then went to Harvard.

As a young person, Barack Obama’s hero was his mother. His dream was to take care of her and his grandparents because they were the ones who took care of him when his mother stayed in Indonesia.

In my eyes I see that Mr. Obama is kind, honest, loyal and brave. Barack Obama is the first African American to be elected as President of the United States of America! Barack Obama has a real plan for when he becomes our president. It is to, “get America back on track”. He wants to create new jobs and ease the burden on hardworking Americans. He wants to give middle-class tax cuts. Our president elect, Barack Obama is my hero.
