Brett Favre, the one and only, the greatest, is my hero whose life started in Mississippi. He was born in a very country place in Mississippi called Kiln, also known as “the kill,” on October 10, 1969. His mother, Bonita, had to take care of some rough, wild, and crazy kids. Her children’s names were Brandi, Jeff, Brett, and Scott. Brett Favre’s biggest hero was his dad, also known as “big Irv.” Brett loved his dad more than the world and football combined.
To sum up Brett’s life in one sentence is mentally and physically impossible. Brett grew up with many different sports because his dad encouraged him to. His dad was a baseball coach at a high school nearby his house, which was the one Favre eventually went to. He grew up playing with friends and rough housing with siblings. When he turned six or seven he started to play baseball, which is probably where he got his arm. In middle school he started to play football and then play baseball and football for his dad. He was then recruited by Mississippi State for college; again he played football and baseball. Then he decided after college he would to enter the NFL draft. He was drafted by the Falcons, then traded to the Green Bay Packers. Brett was an amazing player. then after his 2008 season, he was signed by the Jets.
Brett had an amazing life, but there were still a lot of tragedies going on behind the scenes. While he was in the middle of his phenomenal career, his dad died! HIS FATHER WAS EVERYTHING TO HIM! Then amazingly, a few weeks later they found out that Dienna, his wife, had breast cancer. Brett then was involved in a car accident and had to have a lot of his intestines removed. Then his brother in law died in a car accident! His brother was involved in one and almost died. At an early stage of his life he was taking pain pills. The mixture of pain pills and alcohol were the worst. Brett eventually became an alcoholic. Brett overcame the alcohol and pain pills and started his life over again. He broke every record on the book for a quarterback. His biggest accomplishment was funding many foundations like Make A Wish. He also has two of his own charities that help kids with their diseases.

Brett is an outstanding person in a football uniform and out. He has many people including me who admire him. He loves children and he has two foundations. He looks at the inside of people and not the outside. He is a best friend with a man that has Down syndrome. That tells you how much of a good person he is. He has inspired a lot of football players by how he plays the game and how he plays no matter what.

Brett will never die in the Packer fans' hearts. Brett is still alive today and has a lot of life in front of him. He now plays for the New York Jets. If I have learned one thing from Brett Favre, it's that no matter how people look or act they are still people and that we should treat them like people and be nice.
