I will tell you about my hero Bethany Hamilton. She is a surfer. She was born in Kauai, Hawaii. She is 19 years old now. Her parents are surfers.

When it was October 31st, 2003, Bethany Hamilton went out to surf with her friends. When Bethany was surfing she put her left hand in the water. Then a huge tiger shark came and ripped her left arm off. She lost 60% of her blood. But she didn’t give up her dream and she kept practicing surfing and got better at surfing with one arm. Now she can surf confidently with one arm.

I was inspired about her story. I learned a lot from her story. I will never give up. I will always work hard at what I do and I will never give up my dream of being a doctor.
