My hero is Bethany Hamilton.I chose this hero because she has inspired kids to get into the water and try to surf.She has taught many kids to surf since she was thirteen and now she's sixteen years old.Bethany was born February 8th,1990,at North Shore Kaui.Her education is at National Scholastic Surfing Academy(NSSA).An interesting fact when she was young is that she was a very good surfer!Her mom and dad were her only family.She didn't have any younger or older siblings.Her mom and dad are the reason Bethany has made such a great sucsess.

The heros that influenced Bethany are all the professional surfers in the world.Bethany has always wanted to do what all good surfers do.So now she can do it by doing her favourite sport!!Bethany faced one very serious obstacle. One day Bethany was surfing and all of a sudden a huge tiger shard attacked her. Unfortunatley she lost her left arm, but she is still surfing tall and proud!!! Bethany did overcome the obstacles by taking a surgery the next morning and now she can only surf with one arm.

Bethany is a hero to people and me because when people told her that she shouldn't compete anymore she didn't care she just wanted to go out there and surf!!She also is a hero because she inspired kids to try new things.Bethany Hamilton is a perfect excample for courageos.Bethany represents courageous because she took the chance to go back out there and surf.Bethany is also really strong because when she was surfing she had to really swim fast to get to the beach.The achieved three first place medals with one arm at surfing competions.

Bethany inspired me ever since this incident happened.She also inspires me because she got attacked by the most strongest shark in the world and if it bit off two more inches, she would've died.She never gave up on her dream sport!!!!!!
