Brett Lee or "Binga" was born on 8 November 1976 and grew up in the town of Wollongong in New South Wales. His parents are Bob and Helen and his brothers, Shane (older) and Grant (younger). In his first game of cricket he took 6-0 in one over and they were all bowled out.

While he plays cricket for Australia, he is also in a band called 'Six&Out' and he made a single called 'Can You Tell A Girl' with an Indian singer. Last year when India toured Australia, Brett was in the Bollywood production, that was a great hit in India. He and his band are still going strong.

He has many great sponsors. He is a great person just to talk to and on the field he doesn't offend anyone with racial comments or show disrespect to umpires or teammates. So to me he is a great person leading the way for others in the Australian and N.S.W team and even young cricketers at junior club levels.
During his time overseas he has seen the devastating poverty in Africa and India and the past years he has supported these communities. Brett is in ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency), an organisaton that supports these people in relief and development programs. He is also in the Salvation Army or 'The Salvos' which help the people in need of food, water and housing if they have lost their houses or if they are homeless. They also do work to help people with addictions or disability.
These are the reasons why he is my hero on and off the field.
