My hero is Brandon Marshall, WR for the Denver Broncos. Marshall is my hero because of the way he can make opposing defenders look foolish as he jukes and shuffles his way to the end zone. When I get older I would like to be a wide receiver in the NFL, so he is the person I try to model myself after when I'm playing football. Marshall is taller than most receivers and uses his height to his advantage; I also use my height to my advantage as well.

Brandon Marshall who was born March 23, 1984 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania played college ball for Central Florida, was later drafted by the Broncos in 2006. Marshall started 21 games at wide receiver for Central Florida, collecting 112 receptions, 1,674 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. As a senior, Marshall played in 13 games and had career highs in receptions with 74, receiving yards with 1,195, and touchdowns with 11. Marshall's best career game came during the 2005 Hawaii Bowl, where he had 11 catches for 210 yards and three touchdowns. Marshall was named Most Valuable Player of that game. Marshall also started at safety for seven games during the 2004 season. Marshall had an interception and forced fumble while also leading his entire team in tackles with 51.

After the Broncos drafted Marshall 119th overall in 2006, he finally saw significant playing time during the 2007 season. Marshall posted team-highs and career-highs in receptions with 102, receiving yards with 1,325 and receiving touchdowns with 7. Marshall became the only wide receiver in Broncos history to have at least 10 receptions in two consecutive games during that season. Marshall reached the 1,000-yard milestone during the 13th game of the season, which was a 41-7 home win over the Kansas City Chiefs. His 100-reception and 1,000-yard season were each the first of his career. In a Sunday home win against the Minnesota Vikings, Marshall caught 10 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. The 10 catches gave Marshall 102 total receptions for the year; he became only the third second-year player in NFL history to have at least 100 receptions in a season, joining Isaac Bruce and Larry Fitzgerald. Among all of the wide receivers in the NFL during the season, Marshall placed fifth in receptions, sixth in receiving yards, second in yards after the catch, first in yards after first contact, first in number of times targeted, and tied for fourth in catches that led to first downs. So far in 2008 Marshall has 63 receptions, 803 receiving yards, and 4 touchdowns.

Brandon Marshall inspires me by the way he plays the game of football. Marshall plays football with Heart, Passion, and Intensity the three main attributes you need to make it to the pros, which is exactly what I want to do. Brandon Marshall can turn any little play into one of the most exciting and exhilarating things you have ever seen. I want to be like Brandon Marshall because all of his accomplishments on and off the field. In every way possible Brandon Marshall is the greatest wide receiver to ever play not only the history of the Denver Broncos, but the entire history of the NFL.

My Hero, Brandon Marshall, will be one of the all-time greats when his career is over and I just wish I can get the opportunity to play in the NFL and try to fill his footsteps. He is in my mind the most exciting player in the NFL and I hope to meet him and get tips from him so I can be as great an NFL wide receiver as he is now. All together there is not a better player in the NFL than Brandon Marshall and that's why he is my hero.
