buster posey sliding into second base (http://www.walkoffwalk.com/2010/10/buster-posey-steals-second-bas.html) |
Number 28 for the San Francisco giants, Buster Posey is my hero; he got me back into baseball. He plays for the San Francisco Giants as their starting catcher and first baseman. At 23 he throws and bats right, with a batting average of .305, with a total of 18 home runs, 67 RBI’s (runs batted in), and 58 runs. He is heroic because he lead the giants to win their first world series in San Francisco.
Buster Posey was born on March 27, 1987, in Leesburg, Georgia. Posey was born the oldest out of 4 children. His parents are Demp and Traci Posey. She is 47 years old and currently married to Demp Posey Jr. in Leesburg, Georgia where they live, happily rooting for their son.

During Buster’s college years, he played baseball for the Florida State Seminoles. When he started playing in his freshman year, he started at shortstop, starting in 65 games, but by the time he was a sophomore, his coach, Mike Martin, suggested that he play catcher. Sure enough, Buster liked it, and kept playing catcher, while occasionally playing first base. His batting average was at an average of .346, with 4 home runs and 48 RBI’s. After a successful college career he was drafted by the San Francisco Giants.
The Giants won the 2010 World Series with the help of a young rookie player, Buster Posey. In the World Series, Buster helped contribute 1 home run, and 2 RBI’s, contributing 6 hits out of 20 AB (at bats). He was even more helpful to the Giants during the NLCS (National League Championship Series), and the NLDS (National League Division Series).

Buster Posey won the Rookie of the Year of 2010, also known as the Jackie Robinson award, and he got the chance to be part of the team that won the World Series for their first time in San Francisco. He was a great player and always will be, for as long as he plays on the Giants, that is.
