Barbara Boxer

by Brenda from Arizona

Barbara Boxer, U.S. Senator from California, is my hero. I consider a hero to be someone you can trust, someone you can care about, and someone who will be there for you when you need them. I think that Barbara is a true hero, because she helps people and children who need help.

She’s a true hero by helping people in need. She has made a difference by passing bills that give money to those poor people who actually need it. She is fighting against global warming. She has helped the poor by giving them food to eat, clothing, and a home. She is a true hero because she puts other people before herself.

Barbara Boxer lives in Marin County, California. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 11, 1940. Before she began her career to help others, she attended public schools. She graduated from Wingate High School in 1962. When she was in school, she did a lot of activities. She also went to Brooklyn College in 1958. She was a stockbroker from 1962-1965. She then became a newspaper editor from 1972-1974. After all that hard work, she was finally elected to the U.S. Senate in 1992.

She is a person who you can trust and count on, a person who will help you no matter what. She had always wanted to become someone important in her life. She now is our Senator of California. I haven’t met her ,but I know that she is a great person. She is a United States hero.
