Beverly Callahan

by Lexy from Lafayette Hill

heart
heart

"Home is were the heart is and that's my home." I hear this everytime I see my grandmom, Beverly Callahan. She is my hero because she is loving, courageous, and protective. Like the quote says, she lives in a house of love in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia.

My grandmom is loving. She opens her heart and her home to the family. She was loving to her brothers and sisters because when they were in a home because her parents could not take care of them, she got married at 16 so they could live with her. I know if there is something I have to say she will love me no matter what.

My grandmom is courageous. It takes a lot of courage to get through a parent's divorce, but she was strong for her brothers and sisters. Nothing really scares my grandmom unless someone is hurt. I sometimes think of my grandmom as my mom just because she is always there. She is always there to fight battles that you can't face on your own.

If my grandmom's name was in the dictionary it would have the synonym, protective. Even though it's a little bit annoying, I still love her and nothing, not even nagging, can stop that. It is nice to know that in her house, in her car, anywhere with her, I feel safe.

There is something about my grandmom that makes her special and that's because she's mine. I love this woman and no one could ruin that between my hero and me.
