Blythe My Uncle |
Blythe, my uncle, is my hero because he has accomplished going to University of North Carolina unlike others in my whole family. He has made a wonderful impact on how I want to be successful in life the way he was successful. Blythe currently resides in North Carolina.
Blythe was raised by his grandparents because his mom was in a bad wreck and there was no way to tell if she was going to make it or not, but they raised him like he was their own. His heroes are his grandparents, Marshall and Lucille Blake because they raised him to have good ethics, strong morals, as well as values. They strived to make him successful in life and stressed the importance to earn a good education. He said “I live my life as they did by expressing a good work ethic and having the ability to balance my life with work and the responsibilities at home.”
He is a person who got a degree in what he really wants to do. His job is a territory manager of a food service company. His daily responsibility is to visit with restaurant owners because they rely on him, as their food representative, to help them grow their business, take care of any questions or concerns, and they purchase all their supplies from him. Another question I asked is “What makes you go back to work everyday?” He said, “My clients rely on me to visit and take care of their needs.” If it wasn’t for him they wouldn’t be able to order products or have answers for their questions and they wouldn’t be able to run their business successfully without him as their business consultant.
The way my hero got to where he is, is by achieving a personal goal of earning a degree at UNC, and by working and studying hard. I asked him what his fear was and he said it was the fear of failure. That is why he strives for excellence. He doesn’t believe in failure and he feels he should be excellent or capable of giving the best of his ability at everything he does.
The reason he chose this career pathway was because he enjoys interacting with others, meeting new people, building relationships, and having the opportunity to help others become successful with their business. When I asked him how it felt being someone’s hero. He said “I feel flattered as well as honored to be someone’s hero.” He also said “By practicing my beliefs and setting an example for someone while trying to be like the heroes that makes me feel humble to have an impact on someone’s life without knowing I was doing so; it is just very flattering.”
The reason my uncle is my hero is because he has succeeded in getting a college degree that fits his personality. This is the reason I have chosen him for my hero.
