Bono

"Americans, Irish people, are good at charity. We like to give, and we give a lot, even those who can't afford it. But justice is a higher standard." Bono

In honor of Bono, I did research about this hero in "Biography Today". I chose Bono because he is the greatest singer in the world and his good heart. I was glad I did because I learned so much about him.

Bono was born in Dublin, Ireland on May 10, 1960. His real name is Paul David Hewson. His Father was a postal worker and his mother was a secretary in a dairy.

Bono first went to Glasnevin National Primary School in Dublin where he was popular. Then he went to an all boy’s catholic school called St. Patrick’s school. He didn’t like it there and he had a reputation as a trouble-maker. After that he went to Mount Temple High School, one of Ireland’s first non religious schools. He graduated there and went to the National University of Ireland where he was thrown out for failing one class.

U2 became famous in 1980 but the band started in 1976. U2’ s first album was Boy. Their first video was I Will Follow. The name U2 came from a military aircraft. One of their best albums is War. War featured New Year’s Day, a anti- war song. After War, Bono and his wife went to work at a refugee camp.

Bono is important because he helped the world so much. He is magical and his voice amazing. He is the best man on earth and I love all of U2’s albums.
