A hero is someone who is an inspiration to others. My hero is Coco Chanel because she inspires me to not worry about what others think, and to be original.

Coco Chanel was born on 19 August, 1883 in Loire Valley, France. Her full name is Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel. Coco Chanel got her education from a boarding school in Moulins. She also accepted a Nieman Marcus Fashion Award in 1957. At the age of 87 Coco Chanel died on 10 January 1971.

Coco changed the way people dress today. She started wearing men’s cloths such as: pants, shirts, hats without feathers, neckties, and men’s blazer’s. Most of her designs were inspired by men’s clothing, but also had some women’s style mixed in with them. Coco introduced her signature cardigan jacket in 1925, and signature “little black dress” in 1926. In the 1920’s, women dressed conservatively, but Coco took her wild ideas of fashion and followed them.

Coco Chanel was later critically acclaimed for her women’s business suits, this turned the fashion industry upside down. Coco’s first store displayed men’s pullover sweaters, sailor jackets, and straight skirts, which caught almost everybody’s eye who walked past. Coco Chanel had done something nobody else had dared to do. She had turned fashion unisex. Coco Chanel did this because she liked to be comfy and original.

Coco Chanel is my hero. She is my hero because she is an inspiration. Also, she showed people that it wasn't the biggest deal in the world about what other people think. Coco showed me that sometimes a really risky move came be the best move you've ever done.
