For every person, a hero may mean something different. Some will say that when an individual is willing to sacrifice something to save a life, that is being heroic. Another will state that a hero is a person who will stand up for something/someone or does something a normal person wouldn’t. But all heroes are caring and extraordinary people, and are filled with trust and confidence. They have leadership and it can be their mom or dad, some famous person, or even the president! But whoever the hero is, they inspire the person in many different ways. How? Every hero is a role model who has set a good example once in their lives. By performing good deeds, the rest of the world realizes that it is possible to do anything and that it only requires time and thought. A hero will prove at least one person wrong but provide hope for another person.

Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel is a French fashion designer known all over the world since the 20th century. She is one of the most influential fashion designers who had created many timeless designs, which are still worn to this day. From simple outfits, to pearls worn around the neck, to the little black dress, the name Coco Chanel will always remain in the fashion world. Chanel had originated from the small city of Saumur located in France, and later died in Paris also in the same country of her birthplace. She was born on August 19 1883, and died January 10, in the year 1971 at the age of 87.

Even though her life may have seemed glamorous throughout her whole life, it was the opposite. Her mother had died when she was only six, leaving her with her father who let the nuns raise her. They taught her how to sew which may have been an introduction to the future she was going to lead on. At age 20, Chanel began to design and sell simple hats, which became popular and was the beginning of her career. Soon after, she began experimenting more towards "couture". By the 1920's she was designing more and more outfits which became popular even though poorer materials were used. This reflects on how Chanel was a hero because she still created clothes that nobody had ever designed before even though she didn't know if they would become popular or fail. She had stood up for what she felt women should be wearing.

Coco Chanel could be described as brave and inspirational. She was brave for taking a risk to create clothes for women that had been different from what everyone wore. She believed that she could do it and followed her heart. "I gave women a sense of freedom; I gave them back their bodies: bodies that were drenched in sweat, due to fashion's finery, lace, corsets, underclothes, padding." Chanel had also been inspirational by setting an example for future fashion designers, yet she had also inspired those who chose to wore her designs. In 1921, she produced her own perfume, know as Chanel No 5. To this day, the same perfume is still worn. Every creation from Coco Chanel herself, and the house of Chanel is timeless. Coco Chanel; also seen as one of the world's most renowned style icons.

A hero can be anybody, know and unknown, from a normal person to a celebrity, to a fashion designer, just like Coco Chanel. But they will always be known, no matter who or what they are. There is a quote that goes; "There is a hero in all of us." I believe this is true because somewhere in ourselves, we have done something different from any other, that is both extraordinary and courageous.
