What’s a hero? We aren’t just talking about superman or batman on your T.V. screen. What if you go deeper than that? When you think of a hero the words that may come to mind are determined, talented, intelligent and brave. Heroes would usually have these special aspects to them. Have you ever admired someone? Have you ever wanted to become as successful as someone else? That person would usually take the title as your hero. They are people who have a great story behind their successful lives. As I grow up, I would like to follow the footsteps of my hero, Chase Coy. He is an incredible songwriter who conquered his dreams and accomplished his fantasy as a kid at a young age.

Ever since I was young, I wanted to do something musically with my life. Only situation with that was I never felt supported by any means by anyone. I started to give up. No one ever encouraged me. I felt like I was just wasting my time on this little hobby. When I came across a songwriter/singer named Chase Coy, he changed my mind. Chase is a young 18 year old, who is still trying to become more than a boy growing up in Indiana. He wants to become his dreams, and he’s the type of person who won’t ever give up. I admire Chase for that. When he was younger, no one really supported him. Everyone thought it would be impossible for him to become a star but Chase thought different.

Chase Coy was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. At a young age, he found a love for music. He didn’t give it a chance until he was 15 and played with a couple of his friends. He played in front of a few friends and they encouraged him to sing in front of more people. Chase had a good idea to start becoming known. Chase knew a great way to get people to start knowing you and your music is by the internet. He made a myspace account and started adding music files. These music files were him singing and playing the acoustic guitar to his beautiful songs that he wrote. People started falling in love with his soothing voice and his incredible piano and guitar playing. There was no way you could not like him. He hit the ages 13-16 with songs about love and stories of his life. Every song he wrote has such an amazing story to it and it’s very easy to follow. They had great meaning behind them.

After being on myspace for a year and a half, he got 3 million plays on his page. People were listening to him and passing his name around. Soon enough, itunes thought it would be a great idea to put his music on their program. His songs were an instant hit on itunes. Everyone who listened to him were stuck to him like glue. Every week Chase Coy would be on the 100 top songs list. He also won best songwriter on Itunes. Chase started becoming more famous so he decided to start a new project. This project was named “Dear Juliet”. This project was a new album and a new name he wanted to set for himself. Some songs that were in this project were “Mockingbird”,” Summer’s Song”, “All Those Nights”, and “Interlude”. These were some of the favorites. These songs show Chase’s romantic love life and represent Chase’s dream for the perfect girl.

There’s one meaning to love and Chase truly knows it. Chase has had a summer love and he made it very clear to his audiences. In his song Mockingbird, the mockingbird represents a girl that has come to his town for the summer. He found himself while with this girl, and she found herself as well. They were comfortable in front of each other and they were able to be themselves. She was the only one that understood him. Sadly the girl had to leave, and left Chase. He had to let his summer romance go. This left Chase with a broken heart but an inspiration for his new song. His songs have such meaning that it helps you understand him much more. That may be the main reason he’s so incredible.

Chase Coy got popular all by himself, without having anyone else's help. He became his dreams and got his chance to go on tour. This made him the happiest boy alive, living the dream at age 18. He loves to see the people who actually believed in him and never gave up with him on tour. Chase is an inspirational figure for anyone that wants to become a songwriter, singer or instrument player. To have these careers, you need to have Chase's exact qualities which are determined, hopeful and unrelenting. Chase helped me realize if I want to become something with my life, I shouldn't let anyone tell me I'm not good enough and give up. I should keep moving and practicing so I can prove those people wrong. No one else can plan your future except yourself. These powerful sayings come from Chase's actions. Chase is the perfect role model or hero for anyone that wants to make their dreams come true.
