In this Paragraph, I will be explaining why Coretta Scott King is my hero and give a short biography of how her lifestyle was and how she was a huge influence in making Martin Luther King Jr.'s dreams come alive. She had a lot of courage and faith and belief in herself. She was a strong woman and loved to be different and open to different types of situations and care for others.

I chose Coretta Scott King because I believe she made a difference in the world and has devoted her time and effort into making this world a better place for everyone to feel safe. She lived in Perry County, Alabama and later on moved to Atlanta, Georgia. She was born on April 27, 1927 and died on January 30, 2006 from ovarian cancer. Coretta Scott did many things in her lifetime like becoming Civil Rights Leader, an author, singer, and the founder of The King Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Coretta Scott made a difference by fighting for world peace. She also became another founder of The Committee for a Sane Nuclear Policy which is an adoption agency and changed a boy's life by adopting him into her home. Coretta Scott took a vocal stand for feminism, lesbian and gay rights, HIV/AIDS prevention, and against Capital Punishment. She felt very strongly on these issues.

I chose Coretta Scott King as my hero because Coretta Scott was very determined and had a lot of strive and drive that I really admire. Also for stating that we should have Martin Luther King Jr. Day to celebrate her husband's achievements. Looking at Coretta Scott's achievements, I am motivated to fight for what I believe in and to never give up because then I will only be letting myself down. I am driven to change by this person by believing more in myself, helping out others with their situations, supporting people that need moral support, and just to be a good role model for those less fortunate.
