When most people hear the word "hero" they think of someone like Superman or Spiderman, but when I hear that word, I think of my cousin, Cody. He lives in Richmond Hill, Georgia, he is fifteen years old, and he loves to fish, just like me. I have known him since I was one or two years old. He is my hero and I admire my cousin Cody for several reasons.
My hero has done many awesome things, but some are more exciting than others. First, he has caught multiple forty or fifty pound Black Drum and Spot Tail Bass out of my grandparents' lagoon. Second, he has a gas-powered car, and he is very skilled at driving the vehicle. Next, he excels at math and other schoolwork such as social studies, language arts, and science. Lastly, he is skilled at shooting guns and bow-and-arrows at targets and living animals. As you can see, there are many reasons for Cody to be my hero.
If you have learned about ancient Greece, you will be able to see how my hero and the Greek heroes are extremely similar. The first way that the two types of heroes are similar is that they are both skilled at hunting things. Also, they are both big and muscular. Although they are similar, there are some ways Cody and Greek heroes are different. First, a Greek hero would sail to an island and slay a hideous monster to be crowned king, but Cody kills animals for food. Also, a Greek hero uses swords and spears, but Cody uses his shotgun. As you can see, Cody and Greek heroes are similar and different at the same time. Cody is and will always be my hero.
