Chris Ellison

by Chris from Bentonville

A hero of mine, who has inspired me to be the best man I am capable of, is Chris Ellison. I met Chris when I was 13 years old at a Oklahoma baseball camp. I knew right when I met him, he was the coolest guy I had ever met. He is from a small town called Edmond, in Oklahoma City, which happens to be where I am from. I always heard his name around the town as a little kid, right then I wanted to be just like him. I wanted old people to talk about me at the barber shop, and talk about how talented I am.

When I moved to Arkansas I still wanted to be like him, and I still remember the day he went to play for the Oklahoma University Sooners. He started center field as a freshman and batted with an average of .368. As time passed I also started center at my high school as a freshman. My dream still today is to fill his spot at Oklahoma. When I met him he was the funniest guy I ever met, he was telling us all these jokes he and his roommate had told each other. Also, I didn’t have any money when I was at the camp so he kindly bought my lunch for me, showing the nice side in him.

Chris Ellison is still and will always be my hero. So far I am following in his footsteps, starting like him and everything. My next step to be like him is to start at OU and I am trying my hardest to go to camps and see him again. This is my hero and maybe someday someone will be saying all this stuff about me being their hero.
