People might call it cliche, or say that I chose this person only because she is my mother, but my mom truly is the most amazing person I have ever met in my life. She is an incredible person who helps anyone in need. If my mom finds even a five dollar bracelet on the street, she still tries anything that she can to at least attempt to find its owner. I think that she has radar and can sense when something is wrong. However, the most heroic thing that my mother has done is just that, be the best mother that she could be to my two sisters and me.
We do not live a big city, and are not known all over the nation or around the world. But you do not have to be a big movie star to greatly impact someone's life. She has kept my sisters and me on the right path in life, she has raised us to be good kids, and now and in the future to be good adults. Like I said, you do not have to be famous to touch someone's life in a small, or in this case, big way. But through my sisters, myself, and our family and friends, my mom has touched millions of people.
How can one "ordinary" person touch so many people? Through example and love. My mom has shown so much care for everyone close to her, that those people then turn and do the same for someone that they care about, who then do something for someone else, and it creates a chain effect. I sincerely believe, and know that, because my mom was good to me, and led me to be good to others, that someone on the other side of the country has felt the kindness, whether they know it or not. On the news and in the media, all that is ever heard is the bad in the world, so that sometimes people forget that there is always some good left. That is one of the most important things that my mom has taught me.
My mom shows courage in everything that she does. She shows courage in everything that I just said, everything I have yet to say, and everything that I could possibly say. To show care for every stranger that you meet, and love for everyone that you know, is an amazing feat. However, that is not all. She has also shown me how to have courage for myself, to do things for me too. About four years ago, my mom got really sick, and spent A LOT of time in the hospital and out of respect for her, I will not share that personal aspect of our lives. However, seeing her strength and faith that she would be alright really helped me to have greater strength to conquer my own obstacles.
Throughout everything that I have ever seen, and everything that I have experienced in the sixteen years of my life, I have never seen such an incredible person as my mom, and I do not think that I ever will. Any words that I could ever say, or anything that I could ever do, will ever come anywhere near expressing this woman's worth to myself and the world. A person does not have to be a genious scientist, a movie star, or worth a million dollars to be a priceless person in life.
