Cesar Chavez is my hero because he stood up for the rights of the people when they had no one to stand up for them. He is my hero because he was courageous and was able to achieve much with little education early in his life. Cesar Chavez was born in March 31, 1927 and died in April 23, 1993 and always stood up for what he believed in. He was a man that learned about justice at an early age.

He learned at an early age for many reasons. He realized how unfair the world was, during his early life. He had to go through a lot of racist ramarks in his school. Spanish was banned in his school so he disliked it. He felt like school had nothing to do with his farm life. In 1948 he married Helen Fabela and they settled in Del Ano California.

He was greatly influenced by Gandhi; he helped farmers get what they deserved with strikes, boycotts and other non violent methods. The farmers and their families had suffered a lot. The dangers of pesticide affected the farmers greatly. He stood up for these things and in 1932 he founded the National Farm Workers Association, with the help of Dolores Huerta. They made their association's symbol the Aztec eagle. They were able to boycott certain companies to get what they wanted. He is my hero because he helped the unfortunate farmers, through non violence, and never gave up on his goals.
