Do you know what it takes to be a hero? In my opinion a hero is someone who does what’s right and tries to help anyone they can. A hero is someone who helps people even if they don’t know them. A man named Chris fits my definition of a hero.
My hero is a man named Chris. He lives in Connecticut and was driving around when something dramatic happened. As he drove past 253 Clay St., he found a mother outside screaming for help. This is the story of how he saved the life of someone he did not know without even asking for glory.

Drowning (www.clergyrecovery.com/ dox/drowning.shtml) |
As Chris was driving past Laurie Levesque’s house on 253 Clay St., he heard screaming. He got out of his silver pickup to see what was happening. He learned that Laurie’s three-year-old son nicknamed “J.C” had drowned in a pool in the backyard. She threw her son to him saying she did not know what she should do. While she called for help, Chris gave J.C mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. While she was on the phone Chris got him breathing again. Thanks to the efforts of Chris, a three-year-old he had never met had been saved.
Chris fits T.A. Barron’s description of a “hero on the spot”. One reason he fits the description is when he was faced with a sudden crisis he found the ability to stop when he was doing to try to help. Another reason he fits the description is even in a time of panic he did everything he could to save a life. Finally, he had the righteousness to help save the life of someone he didn’t know. That is why he fits T.A. Barron’s description of a hero on the spot.
Now you know the story of a man named Chris. A man who did what was right and helped people even though he didn’t know them. Now you know the story of someone I call a hero. Hopefully this story has helped to understand what a hero is.
