My hero is Jim Cramer. He has taught me much about stocks. I learned about him several years ago seeing his first show, Kudlow and Cramer, with its co-host, Larry Kudlow. Now he has his own show, Mad Money.

Jim Cramer has a variety of items he does on his shows. The one he does every day is the Lightning Round. Viewers call in rapid fire, and he tells them to buy, sell, or hold. He uses his sound board to tell them that. His sound board has about 20 – 25 buttons which make sounds like a cow, bear, alleluia, and personal foul un–sportsmanlike conduct. The Lightning Round is rapid-fire. He is a hero because his Lightning Round has given me many tips, which have significantly helped my stock portfolio.

“Am I Nutz” is a game that you tell Cramer a stock and how much you own in that stock. He grabs a piece of his prescription paper. He writes buy, sell, or hold and how many shares to buy, sell, or hold.

Frequently on his shows, he gets a man named Herb Greenberg to discuss and debate about certain stocks and whether they will go up or down. This is called “Beating the Racket”.

Jim Cramer has many foam bulls and bears; a sound board; bobble heads of himself that speak; several broken desk chairs; and one beat up one. The bulls signify the markets going up. The bears signify the markets going down. The bobble heads, bulls, and bears are in masses on his desk. At the beginning of the Lightning Round, he throws his desk chair out of the way. He will pick his chair upside down and throw it out of the area into a pile of old chairs. Recently, a hole has developed in the wall behind where he throws his chairs.

In July of 2005, the Mad Money Main Event made its debut. It is a live event. He has a large, live audience. When it comes time for the Lightning Round on these shows, he gets one of the members of the audience to come and throw his desk chair out of the way. On these shows, he picks about 5 people from the audience to come play “Am I Nutz.” He also chooses an important person to come. In the past, he has chosen Eliot Spitzer and Donald Trump. Cramer has done 3 or 4 of these events. The Mad Money Main Event’s guests have taught me tips to investing.

The bottom line is that Jim Cramer has an interesting show. Most of these principles are in his book, Jim Cramer’s Real Money. If you like the stock market or would like to know about it, watch Jim Cramer’s Mad Money. Jim is my hero because he has taught me so much about the markets. I have gained knowledge about diversification and different sectors. The more knowledge you know about the markets, the easier it is to make decisions for your portfolio. Another reason that I consider Jim Cramer a hero is that he inspires me to think and learn, regardless of the topic. He challenges people to think and “do their homework.” By doing their homework, people can make better decisions for their portfolios and in life.
