Business leaders are often more tempted by unethical business conducts, sometimes even illegal operations, which help them make more profits. However, the idea of moral business operatorship is spreading as people realize its importance in the economic chain as well as customer rights. The business world has been seeking a role model, who stands as an example of moral leadership. Since today's economy depends mainly on large businesses such as stock companies, banks and insurance companies, business ethic has come in to the spotlight of the society for the concern of the security of the entire economy. Daniel Paul Amos, the leader of the Aflac insurance company, reinforces the importance of morality when doing business. He has been awarded for 14 times in the Ethisphere magazine as the most influential, moral business leader who upholds the great importance in business ethics. He not only set for a role model for his company and others, but he will also guide me as well as other future business managers on to the right track.

The manager of insurance companies plays an important role in the entire business. They plan out the strategies for projects to meet their goals in a certain amount of time. They also direct the activities and supervise the whole process. Although there have been success stories about chief executives who are not even enrolled in college, according to the Ethisphere magazine analysis, most top executives need a bachelor's degree a lots of work experience. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook website, in 2012, insurance industry managers earned an average of $101,650 each year. Administrative Services Managers is another management position in the company that is similar to the chief executive officer. The employment is expected to continue growing at the same rate which is as more industries generates and more management positions are needed. In addition, the importance of the status of top executives also attracts competition for the limited amount of jobs. The high salary further attracts numerous applicants. Although it is not required for top executives to have any level of degrees, but those with at least a bachelor's degree would have the best job opportunities.

Daniel Paul Amos was born in 1951; his father is Paul Amos, the cofounder of the worldwide insurance company Aflac. According to his biography on the Aflac official website, Dan Amos majored in insurance in University of Georgia as a young person. He later entered his father's company and worked as the top sales person. His ten years of working experience in the middle lower level of the company made him understand how the company works and boosted his knowledge and business skills. The ten years of working experience is essential for his later success, that he has a complete view of the business procedure of the company. Indeed, this is what leads him to his nomination of president of Aflac in 1983, chief operating officer in 1987, and eventually chief executive officer in 1990. Dan Amos has dedicated his entire life in Aflac, from 1973 when he was still a college graduate till now, and he states that his career at Aflac will not end until he is 70.

Dan Amos is nominated and awarded by the Ethisphere magazine as the most successful and influential leaders in business ethic, as he says in an interview by Ethisphere," As chief executive officer, I believe it is my responsibility to nurture those long standing values that have kept us at the top of our industry for almost 60 years.' He fulfills his responsibility as a leader of a company to maintain the good and honest way of doing business and nurture the future business leader to value the importance of ethics and those important values in business as well as in society. Nicolas Thomas, the editor of the Ethisphere magazine has said that, "Dan Amos is part of an exclusive community of leaders who have shown tremendous dedication to business ethics, transparency, sustainability and corporate responsibility." These concepts when doing business is often not being valued and considered necessary, as most business are known for unethical business procedure and sometimes illegal. It is indeed a brave decision for Dab Amos to stand up against the debauched system and act as a role model for the younger generations of business leaders.

It definitely takes a lot of effort and dedication to become someone like Dan Amos. During high school, my goal is to take more classes related to math and statistics. However, I need to be at a certain level of proficiency at other aspects such as literature and art and sports. To be in a top company and have a solid base of knowledge, my goal is to get in to Penn State University for undergrad. To get into Penn State, I need to be involved in extracurricular activities related to business, such as working as an internship at companies and start accumulating experience for the future work. For graduate schools, it would be extremely lucky for me if I can get into a great business school such as the famous Wharton Business School, however, I would also try for other business schools that are able to provide me with a solid foundation and knowledge for my future career.
