My hero is David Beckham. I chose him as my hero because he is a good leader and a good teammate; he is also caring and determined. David Beckham is a soccer player and a star all around the world. David Beckham started professional soccer in 1991, he was sixteen and he played for the team he wanted to play for which was Manchester United. David Beckham is a midfielder; a midfielder is a position in soccer where you get to help move the ball up the field to the forward and support the defense. He used to play for the Barclays Premier League in England for the soccer team Manchester United FC but now David Beckham is retired, he retired in 2013. David has played for five teams in his entire career. Those teams were Real Madrid, England, LA Galaxy, Manchester United, and Preston North End. I chose him as my hero because he is determined, a good leader and teammate, and caring.
One of the reasons David Beckham is my hero is because he is a good teammate and leader. One example why he is a good teammate and leader is he passed down his role of being the captain of the English National soccer team because he wanted his teammates to give it a try. He also encouraged his teammates on the LA Galaxy team if they were losing or not doing well to make them play better. Beckham also is the leader of the founding of a new team in Miami for the MLS in America. MLS stands for Major league soccer. That is why David Beckham is a leader and a good teammate.
David Beckham is also caring. He is the owner of a charity with his wife, Victoria Beckham called Victoria and David Beckham Charitable Trust. Their charity is a charity that provides wheelchairs for children who need them and that can't afford them. He is also an ambassador for the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, or also known as UNICEF which is an organization that help kids with aids and make the world a better place. David Beckham is more involved in the aids part of UNICEF. He is also a founding member for a charity called Help for Heroes. Help for Heroes is a charity that helps the warriors coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan get healed. He is also involved with the Malaria No More charity which is a charity devoted to decreasing the amount of children's deaths by malaria. Those are some of the many reasons that David Beckham is caring.
David Beckham was very determined in his career as a soccer player. David Beckham was determined to become a soccer (futbol) player when he was quite young because it was something he enjoyed doing and he played it with it with his father. He was determined to join Manchester United (British Premier League team) because his family supported that team greatly. Another reason he was determined to play soccer again was when he tore his left achilles tendon by doing a lot of therapy to get better. He was also quite determined to be even more successful in soccer and go on to join Real Madrid, a famous soccer team from Madrid, Spain. Those are some of the many reasons that David Beckham is determined.
David Beckham is a caring person who tries to make the world a better place by helping charities. He helps charities like UNICEF and Help for Heroes. He also runs a charity to provides kids with wheelchairs who need them. He was very determined to get back to soccer when he tore his left achilles tendon. He was also determined when he was young to play soccer on a professional level. He is a good leader by helping his teammates when they are down and leading a new MLS soccer team. You probably know David Beckham as an outstanding soccer player but he is not only that; he is a determined, caring, and a great teammate and leader. That's why David Beckham is my hero.
