Dan Alexander Featherstone

by Adam from Hastings

My biography is about my cousin, Daniel Featherstone. I just call him Dan, my best friend. His motto in life is, “hope for the best, plan for the worst, don't worry about what others think, and do your own thing.”

Dan was born at View Ridge Hospital in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Six hours later, he was low on blood sugar so an IV had to be inserted into his head. Somehow, though, he managed to pull the IV out! All his parents could do was stare at him and wonder what he was going to grow up to be like.

He grew up in South Minneapolis. Today, he lives in Eden Prairie with his parents, Brad and Lynn Featherstone. They have funny stories to share about Dan as a child. For example, once he ran down the stairs a little too fast. When he made sliding contact with the stairs, he was rewarded with a face full of rug burn!

Dan attended Oak Elementary and Eden Prairie High School. Currently, he attends the Minneapolis Technology College. His favorite classes include chemistry, astronomy, and math. He is also involved in Math Club, Chess Club, and the Vampire Fashion Show. This is a fashion show in vampire outfits.

He is a jack of all trades! He has done volunteer work for the city and was hired because of his many abilities. He is certified as a lifeguard and as an umpire.

Dan has experienced struggles as well as strengths. One struggle he has is with organized religions. He feels that people can be brainwashed by some of it. A strength he has is his intelligence. He appreciates his parents because of their support of his career.

I admire Dan for many reasons. I admire his intelligence in general and his knowledge of chemistry in particular. We also share many things in common such as our quirky sense of humor and our love of zoology and drama. Dan is a big brother to me, and the closest family member I have.
