This quote from Christopher Reeves "Superman" describes Dwayne Johnson because of his drive he never gave up.. After going undrafted to NFL in 1995 due to a football injury Johnson turned to wrestling. From there, he eventually signed with the World Wrestling Federation under the name Flex Kavana, and a year later, joined The Nation of Domination, eventually taking over its leadership and calling himself The Rock ( "The Rock." Contemporary). Johnson won his first WWF championship in February of 1997 making him, at 24, the youngest ever to win a belt ( "The Rock." Contemporary). Outside the ring Johnson has become one of the most successful actors earning up to $64.5 million between June 2015 and June 2016 ("Dwayne Johnson"). A hero must possess determination and compassion. Dwayne Johnson encourages children around the world to never give up and continue their education through many foundations and programs. A hero has qualities of determination and compassion, and Dwayne Johnson possesses this, therefore he is a hero.

Johnson's humanitarian efforts to help children around the world and give back to the community make him compassionate. Outside the ring and the movie studios, Dwayne Johnson devotes his time and effort towards helping the youth. Dwayne Johnson never stops and always tries to support children in need.he encourages children to continue their schooling beyond their high school year through special courses. Johnson's commitment to the youth shows that he is compassionate in making sure that children around the world grow up healthy and have a good education.

Johnson's drive to overcome all obstacles and go from poverty to multimillionaire make him a hero. "Johnson hoped for a career in the National Football League (NFL), but he injured his back and played poorly during his senior year. He was passed over in the NFL draft that year but was offered an opportunity with the Canadian Football League (CFL) instead. In 1995 he became a practice player for the Calgary Stampeders franchise and survived for months on a meager salary of $175 per week" (Johnson). Dwayne Johnson never gave up and took knocks along the way overcoming adversity and all obstacles. Dwayne Johnson chose wrestling to spare his son from the life he had lived even though the life of a wrestler would be hard and be a long process. When things got hard, Johnson never gave up. As he told Hughes, "I want to do more in the WWF. I want to do more in the movie industry. Ultimately, I want to be the most electrifying man in sports entertainment, period"(Johnson). Dwayne Johnson is an inspiration because he never gives up and is never satisfied with where he is. He always tries to be better and improve himself and is a role model to all. Dwayne Johnson inspires me because how successful he is and what I hope to reach one day. Although he is rich and successful he stays humble and gives back to the community. Johnson's drive of never giving up and compassion through humanitarian efforts have made him a hero.
