Donkey Kong is an oversized gorilla that started off as a bad guy and captured a Princess named Peach. DK threatened to eat her but Mario, a local plumber, rose up and fought the evil DK. After fighting the evil DK in like ten different levels, Mario finally defeated DK a rescued Princess Peach. After this defeat, DK re-thought the way he was going in life and went into rehab to become nice and friendly, instead of being bad and evil.

While doing his time in rehab Donkey Kong decided to move back to his native land DK Isles, once he got out of rehab. After about eight months in rehab, DK was finally released and he went back to DK Isles to live with his kind again. When he arrived he went to his Grandpa's house, Cranky Kong, and lived with him for about a year. Then he bought his own tree house and his travels to become a hero started. DK befriended Diddy Kong and together they fought crime on the streets of DK Isles.

Donkey and Diddy didn't face their real challenge until King K. Rool entered the picture. Rool was hell bent on taking over the DK Isles and becoming the King there. But the Kongs weren't going to let that happen anytime soon. The Kongs started their journey fighting off Kremlings, Rool's minions. These enemies were a nuisance to the Kongs. They would get in their way whenever they got closer to Rool.

The Kongs would have to not only fight Rool's Minions, they would have to fight the generals of King K. Rools. They would have to fight a giant gerbil, a giant bee, and other giant things before they could get theor hands on Rool. But finally after destroying half of Rool's army they finally got to face off against the evil King.

The battle between the Kongs and the King was long and fierce. There were cannons and kremlings involved in the battle but the Kongs came out on top, and they would banish Rool from the land. Rool would eventually try to capture DK Isles on multiple different occasions but he never prevailed. And that is why Donkey is a True Hero in the Video game world.
