Darrell Green

I chose Darrell Green as my hero because of what an athlete he is in the NFL and how he inspired kids with his two foundations: the Darrell Green Youth Life Foundation (DGYLF) and the Darrell Green Business Council for Youth. First, I am going to talk about the achievements he did on the field and what got him in the hall of fame. Then, what his foundations did for kids to help them grow up to live good lives. Finally, I'm going to talk about what the star is doing today.

Darrell Green is an amazing athlete gifted with natural abilities. He runs an astonishing 4.2 40 yard dash and is the fastest guy on his team or was... Amazingly, he was a 7 time pro bowler and was gonna be a hall of famer after two years of playing cornerback. Also, his stats were incredible: 1159 tackles, 621 defensive yards, and 54 interceptions and 6 defensive touchdowns. Darrell Green was an elite athlete and you couldn't ask for more. The crazy twist is that he was doing this all through his 20's and well through his 30's and then lost his touch at the age of 42. Darrell Green was the fastest player on the team when he was forty years old! He had a god given talent and he put it to great use. He is a lucky guy. But everyone is born with a gift and it can be just as good as what Darrell Green had

Now, I am going to talk aout Darrell's two foundations he founded. The first one is called darrell green youth life foundation. It helps to shape kids' lives and try to get the community back on track. This foundation is committed to taking care of the child, strengthening the family and rebuilding the community. Also, they like the idea of early support for children to help ensure that they can make something out of their lives. It also runs summer school programs so children can learn and have a bright future. The second foundation is called darrell green business council of youth and all that one is, long story short, it helps kids get an education for the future and get them into a good school. What really made darrell green my hero was that he is a phenomenal athlete, but at the same time, he wants to help kids who don't have what he has.

For this paragraph, I'm going to talk about darrell green's life today. Darrell is now living happily in his mansion in virginia with his two daughters and a son with his wife Jewell (Jerrell, Jared, and Joi) and a daughter (Crystal). He is also still committed to his foundations which speaks to his character because he has a family to take care of, but he also thinks of the kids who don't have gifts like his kids. Now, he goes to watch the redskins play their games, signing autographs, and just living out his life with his wife and kids. He's enjoying life like everyone should, same with the kids that are in those foundations and darrell goes there consistently to sign t-shirts and try to help those families. I truly respect him for that.

To wrap things up, I want to really explain why I chose Darrell Green as my hero. He is one of the best NFL players ever and like me, everyone looks up to these guys for what they can do physically on the field, but not what they do off the field. But Darrell Green knew that he was born with a gift and also knew that other people weren't like him and didn't have the privelages he had and that's why I picked him, even though he was an amazing athlete, he wanted to help others who never got what he got. And to me, that's a true hero.
