My hero is Derek Jeter. He plays shortstop for the New York Yankees. Derek Jeter has won five world series with the Yankees. In 2009 Derek Jeter won the Roberto Clemente award. The Roberto Clemente award is given to players who combine community service and excellence on the baseball field. Jeter lives in Manhattan, New York during the season and in Tampa Bay, Florida during the off season. Derek Jeter was born on June 26 in Pequannock, NJ. He is still living today. Derek is important to me because he inspired me to start playing baseball and making it my passion.
