The purpose of this essay is for an English final project in grade 7. I have two Heroes; one semi-local and the other lives in Texas. The semi-local hero is Don Narcisse he played 13 seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and holds the 2nd most catches in the CFL during the regular season at 919 career catches. He was on the winning team in the 1989 Grey Cup. My non local hero is Preston Arsement, better known as TBNRfrags. He is a professional YouTuber (meaning he does YouTube as a job, which means if you have a partnership you get paid per view) and does primarily Call of Duty videos. I think he is my hero because he inspired me to start my YouTube channel and to never give up.

This paragraph will focus on Don Narcisse. I did not know much about Don until this March at the football fundraiser dinner. Another kid, my friend Donny, and I got called up on stage by him. He gave me an autographed picture and let me wear his Grey Cup ring. He introduced me to everyone in the crowd. It was a very special experience and I felt very surprised when I heard my name called. Don is inspirational to me. The speech he gave inspired me to try harder in football.

This paragraph is about TBNRfrags. I first discovered Preston's channel through juicetra's channel, I saw a video by juicetra boasting a very impressive gameplay. I began watching the video and was surprised when the voice was different and he introduced himself as TBNRfrags. That is just his gamertag TBNR stands for The Best Never Rest and he has a clan full of people with that prefix on their name. I quite liked the gameplay and the commentator so I looked up his channel. Sure enough he had a channel full of equally impressive gameplay and I subscribed on the spot. I have been a subscriber for eight and a half months and plan to stay subbed for a lot longer. His channel is rapidly growing and I quite like his style of commentary. He has also donated to charity on multiple occasions, with his 200 Massive Ordinance Air Blasts (MOAB) live stream where he got 200 MOAB's in one stream. Overall it took 37 hours and got 202/200 MOAB's; a MOAB is a 24 kill streak in Call of Duty multiplayer. All the money was donated to a charity for cancer research.
I also like Preston's channel because he connects to and cares about his viewers. I have proof that he cares about his viewers. Several days ago I sent him a private message on YouTube asking him for his address intending to send him fanmail; within I explained why I wanted to do so. I didn't expect a reply for quite a while so I planned to resend the message daily until I got a response. Large YouTubers commonly get many messages a day which is why I planned to do this. Imagine my surprise when (I sent my message at 8:00 AM) I had a response by lunch time. He had said no but he would try to set up a P.O. Box when he moves into his new place. At the time he was moving in two days. But the fact he said no was unimportant at that point, what was important was that he actually replied and he replied very quickly. He inspires me to never give up because one year ago he had ten video views and about four viewers during his live streams. At this point he has 118,000 subscribers and averages 45,000 views per video.
In this paragraph I will contrast the two. Don was a CFL player for 13 years and is currently in the Hall of Fame and the Plaza of Honor. Preston however is only 18 years old and is just getting started whereas Don is all done. Preston feels a lot closer to me because I see/hear (through videos) him far more often whereas with Don he's mostly seen just in pictures.
As you can see they are both very inspirational people. If I had to pick which one I feel closer to it would be Preston. All in all, both of these people have inspired me a lot and I feel glad to have met or discovered them.
