Heroes are simple people that we admire or feel something for them because of great acts they do and because of this I have chosen Dan Mazur. He is my hero because he is a courageous man, who risked his life to save another climber.

Dan Mazur is a 44 year old Himalayan explorer and a building designer. He tests climbing and trekking equipment. He lived in England, Asia and North America. As a boy he spent his summers exploring the wilderness and waterways of Canada by canoe. Dan spent most of his time raising funds for the “Mount Everest Foundation”, building hospitals, schools and environmental projects for families who live around Mt. Everest.

Dan learned to climb in the Himalaya on an expedition, where they attempted to climb the 3 highest mountains peaks and he succeeded in climbing one peak.

Dan Mazur is most widely known for his discovery and assistance in the rescue of Lincoln Hall, an Australian climber on Mount Everest. Dan and his team abandoned their own attempt on the summit in order to save Hall’s life. This brave action made him a hero.
