Princess Diana (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Diana,_Princess_of_Wales) |
I consider Princess Diana my hero. She was worshiped by so many people all her life. In her lifetime she accomplished many great things. She worked on numerous charity projects; she also was one of the most the most photographed people during her lifetime. Diana Spencer was born on July, 1 1961; the youngest daughter of Edward Spencer. She married HRH Prince Charles in 1981, and got divorced in 1996. During her lifetime, she had two children, Prince William and Prince Henry.

Princess Diana in Africa |
The Princess was well known both for her support of charity projects and her sense of style. She was also credited with coniderable influence for her campaigns against the use of landmines and helping the victims of AIDS. In fact, Princess Diana was the first high-profile celebrity to be photographed touching a person infected with the HIV virus. She visited landmine survivors in hospitals, toured demining projects run by the HALO Trust, and attended nine awareness education classes about the dangers of landmines immediately surrounding homes and villages.

A Tragic Accident |
On August 31, 1997 Diana was involved in a car accident in the Pont de 'Alma road tunnel in Paris. She was accompanied with romantic companion Dodi Fayed and their driver Henri Paul and Fayed's body guard Trevor Rees Jones. At the entrance to the tunnel their car struck the right hand wall. Their car swerved to the left of the two-lane carriegeway way and collided with the wall. Dodi Fayed and Henri Paul were both found dead. Trevor Rees-Jones was severely injured but recovered. Princess Diana unfortunately died in the hospital after the accident.

Princess Diana's Tiara |
In conclusion, Princess Diana is a great person and a hero. She is not my hero just because she was part of the royal family. Princess Diana attempted to solve some of the world's problems. She worked in charity projects and went against landmines. She is one of my role models because of her accomplishments.
