the superbowl trophie he won in 1985 (google images) |
Let’s start off with the 5 traits that my hero Mike Ditka has. He is willing to sacrifice, he is generous, responsible, he stands up for others, and last but not least, he is determined. This is how he fits in those 5 traits. First of all he is responsible in many ways but I will tell you couple. He had to coach, play and spend time with his family and also feed his family. He could never miss a practice or a game. He could never disappoint his family in any kind of way. Also he had to spend some time with his hobby friends who like golf like him.
He was willing to sacrifice time with his family. He sacrificed time to have fun. He sacrificed time to sleep, to eat, to watch TV and much more that we get to do on a daily basis. But what he really cares about is taking his wife out for dinner. He is determined this way. He coached the Bears. They went to the superbowl. They lost. NOT! They went to the superbowl and they WON! That was the highlight of his career. He stands up for others like this. He cares more than others more than himself. He would do favors for you that you wouldn’t believe. If someone said anything about one of his players or anyone you would want to run. Generous! He is generous. He is not selfish. If it started pouring or lightning out he would make sure everybody would get in safely before he cared for himself. The last one would be Mike Ditka.

First of all I did not just pick Mike Ditka because he is rich and has his own restaurant and he has everything in the world. I picked him because he said something that was really thoughtful and touching. "Before you can win, you have to believe you are worthy."
