Declined 27 times just for the 28th to be a yes. He was a childs play to some people but to me he was a hero. He saw things a way no one else would. Mr Theodor Dr. Seuss. His book name was created in 1937 with a book called And to Think I Saw it on Mulberry Street. People would say things like; "this book doesn't teach kids anything," or "the animals in this book are unrealistic" maybe that's why he got rejected 27 times. But he tried and tried; he set aside what others told him to do so that he could accomplish what he wanted to do, which resulted in over 44 books. "Many of Ted's cartoons showed funny people doing funny things. Other cartoons were about imaginary animals. Ted drew an animal with an umbrella for a tail. He drew a catbird and a dogfish. He drew a skinny snake riding a skateboard." (Waxman, Laura Hamilton. Dr. Seuss. Minneapolis, MN: Lerner Publications, 2010. Print.). My inspiration is him. Why? I could go on, and on but the biggest part is he was pushed to do things he never wanted to yet he still put his own twist to it and was able to call it his. When he was told to do something with rules, he said no. I am not going to follow what you say. I want my own rules to be free and to be able to call it my own.

Although most people saw Dr.Seuss as just another kids book writer, I went beyond that. I saw the reasons why he drew tails as umbrellas, or why he would mix animals and make them one. Dr. Seuss's father owned a zoo, and they would go on private trips. He would sit in front of a cage and draw the animals but for some reason they never came out right. By the time The Cat in the Hat appeared, Geisel had already built a reputation around those effortless rhymes and silly drawings. He had his mind set on what he wanted to do. He believed that what he did was right; that it was what people would read and laugh at, which would soon have it be a part of his own life. Most people didn't think he accomplished much. But he would draw the way he did to show kids it's fun to read, not to teach them a lesson. "I've capitalized on my mistakes," he said. "Since I can't draw, I've taken the awkwardness and peculiarities of my natural style and developed them. That's why my characters look that way." He's aware of what he does and he's aware that what he draws was a "joke" when he began. But he accepted it. He accepted all the nos he got in life, and made it into something big, and having everyone love what he has made today. He wouldn't only try and interest small children, he had famous quotes like, "Why try and fit in when you were born to stand out?" he tried to get interest from everyone, but sadly, everyone would see him as a childish book writer. But as you can see, he is much more than that.

Dr. Seuss had hidden things too, like how he tried to inspire people to join World War II. Dr. Seuss thought he wasn't doing much for his country, so he decided to join. As World War II approached, Ted's focus shifted, and he began contributing weekly political cartoons to PM magazine; a liberal publication. Dr. Seuss began to want to do something for the world. He began to make books for those who were in the war, to encourage them to do the best they could. Soon after he entered because he didn't believe he was doing the best that he could. Thus proves Dr.Seuss did help his country. He wanted Americans to join and help the countries fellow "friends". When he was younger Dr. Seuss was told to paint specific things, but he didn't agree to it ending in him quitting and creating comics for the newspaper. He also later on wrote books for vocabulary such as, Cat In the Hat. But sadly for most he had a problem with the way he drew but he worked with it. "I've capitalized on my mistakes," he said. "Since I can't draw, I've taken the awkwardness and peculiarities of my natural style and developed them. That's why my characters look that way." Bio.com. A&E Networks Television. Dr. Seuss was aware of what he did and he was aware of that he drew was a "joke" when he began. But he accepted it. He accepted all the nos he got in life and made it into something big and having everyone love what he has made today. "I've capitalized on my mistakes," he said. Even though they would hurt him from the words that would slip out of their mouth.Although it was sorta a joke, he would still make people laugh because of it. The quote was enjoyable because he knew what he drew was some what of awkwardness but on the other hand he knew that some people accepted it, enjoyed it and laughed at what he had to say. Thus he is my hero. He put aside what others would say, to become what he wanted. He pushed his own and others limits to the best. He has inspirational quotes for all ages and genders that is why he is my hero.  Through the laughs and memories he has made, he made an impact on this world, and now everyone will remember him.
