In my opinion, a hero is someone who has done something special. A hero also reaches out to others. My hero has inspired kids around the United States through books. Her name is Sharon Draper.

My hero is Sharon Draper. She was born in Cleveland, but now lives in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is an author who has inspired many people through her books. She has given lots of money to charity and has gone to many schools around the United States to talk to children about her books. She has accomplished many things in her life so far.

Have you ever read any books by Sharon? A few of her books are "Tears of a Tiger," "Forged by Fire," "Darkness Before Dawn," "Romiette and Julio," and the "Battle of Jericho." Her most well-known book is "Tears of a Tiger." It is about a young boy and his friends who were drinking and driving and one of his friends dies. He thinks that it was his fault because he was driving and he lives a hard life from that point on. Within the first few pages of her books, I was hooked and couldn’t put the book down.

Sharon Draper is a hero to others near and far. She is an individual noted for feats of courage and nobility of purpose. She is an example of a hero because of her inspiration to children of all ages. She also tends to be a positive person so her message is always "one of hope, inspiration, and encouragement as well as enlightenment." This is why I think that Sharon Draper is an example of T. A. Barron’s heroes.

In my opinion, a hero is someone who has done something special. A hero also reaches out to others. I hope that you agree that Sharon has both of these qualities. Sharon has hopefully inspired you as much as she did me.
