Penny Dumas

When I was younger I always thought a hero was someone you wished you looked like, or someone you wished to be. But as I grew older I realized that a hero means much more than just that. A hero is someone you can look up to. My mom is someone I can look up to. She is the one person on this earth that gave me everything that I have now. This is what makes her my hero. She is always there for me and she understands everything that I say. Some teenagers keep things from their moms, but that is something I have never done. My mom knows everything about me. Whenever something is wrong I know that she is there, and when I just need someone to talk to I know that my mom is there.

My mom's name is Penny, and she is the mother of three children. She went to college in Rhode Island, and studied to be an interior designer. My mom met my dad at a college party, and she has obviously been with him ever since. When my mom graduated college she continued on in interior design, forming her own business. She got married and five years later I was born. My mom had my sister two years after me and my brother two years after my sister.

My mom has always been someone who cares about other people. She always does her best to help other people out. When she was my age she worked in a nursing home, helping out with the elderly. She wasn't paid; it was just something she liked to do. She still runs her own business, and works in the office at my dance studio. She works for the town on many boards and committees. She cares a lot about the town and the environment. All of these jobs aren’t easy; I don't know how she does it all. She will do her work until she’s done, not just when she gets sick of it. My mom is just a great person; she is very caring and very generous.

My mom builds me up as a person. She is someone I can look up to and she is very dependable. She is always there for me. She understands me very well, and I understand her too. My mom motivates me to do well. She is very supportive, and I could not live without her support. There are so many good things about my mom. One of them is that she is a leader. She is someone that I know will always be by my side.

In conclusion, my mom is my hero because of all the things she does for me. I know that she is someone I can count on. She is someone I don’t have to be afraid to talk to about anything. Not many people have a relationship with their mom like I do. I love my mom very much, and I don’t know what I would do without her.
